🚀 Kicking Off the INSIDE-BONE Project! 🦴🔬

We’re excited to share that the INSIDE-BONE Project has officially launched with a successful kick-off meeting just a few days ago!

Funded by the European Research Council (ERC), this ambitious project explores the complex interplay between mechanical loading, bone growth, and femoral morphology in both typically developing children and those with torsional deformities.

The international, interdisciplinary team spans three continents, bringing together expertise from biomechanics, medical imaging, orthopaedics, and computational modelling to:
✅ Document femoral morphology and gait biomechanics longitudinally
✅ Develop predictive models of bone growth
✅ Assess the impact of surgical and non-surgical interventions on growth plate stress

We’re looking forward to the journey ahead and to sharing key findings as the project progresses.

Contributors to the project include:
Sandra Shefelbine, Claudio Pizzolato, Peter Pivonka, Kranzl Andreas, Nathalie Alexander, Willi Koller, Kevin Kitir, Clara Egner, Laura Rathmair, Gabriel T. Mindler, Tim Emmenegger, Wolfgang Bogner, Basílio Gonçalves
