Biography

Mag. rer. nat. Alexander Pürzel studied Physical Education and History at the University of Vienna (Austria). He is currently involved in his PhD study researching the kinetic causes of compensation strategies in the squat, bench press and deadlift with his mentor Dr. Hans Kainz. Alexander was member of the Austrian National Powerlifting Team between 2013 and 2018 competing at three European and three World Championships which brought him one silver and one gold medal in the deadlift.

Besides writing popular science-based books on programming and compensations strategies in powerlifting, he acts as a speaker and works with international ranked athletes as a powerlifting coach.
