Biography

Kevin Kitir has a background in Mechanical Engineering and further specialized in Biomedical Engineering at TU Wien, where he applied engineering principles to the study of musculoskeletal systems. His work focuses on computational biomechanics and in-silico modeling approaches to investigate joint mechanics and skeletal development.

In 2024, he joined the Department of Biomechanics, Kinesiology and Computer Science in Sport at the University of Vienna as part of the Neuromechanics Research Group.

His research integrates medical image analysis with subject-specific computational modeling to study growth-related changes in the musculoskeletal system. In particular, his work investigates skeletal development and joint mechanics in children by combining MRI-based analysis with biomechanical simulations to better understand the mechanical factors influencing the developing skeleton.
