Biography

Laura Rathmair is currently finishing her master’s degree in Sports Science at the University of Vienna.
In her bachelor’s thesis, she systematically reviewed the effects of massage, vibration massage and foam rolling on muscular regeneration after strength training. Her master’s thesis will be a validity study on how well OpenCap is able to implement force plates into the analysis of a walking trial compared to the gold standard Vicon system. OpenCap is a relatively new, open source and easily accessible motion capture system which does not require the subject to be equipped with markers but has learned through AI to recognize anatomical landmarks.
