Biography

Sander J. van Sintemaartensdijk received his BSc in Sports Science at the University of Vienna in 2023. As an undergraduate, he worked as an intern and student assistant at the Department of Biomechanics, Kinesiology and Computer Science in Sport, where he contributed to several biomechanics and neuromechanics projects utilizing Vicon Nexus. In 2022, he also served on the organizing committee of the 13th World Congress of Performance Analysis of Sport and the 13th International Symposium on Computer Science in Sport, held in Vienna, Austria.

He attained his MSc in Human Movement Sciences (Research) from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2025. During this time, he joined the VUMC Amsterdam as an external research intern, focusing on semi-predictive modeling and clinical gait analysis through induced acceleration analyses in both typically developing children and those with cerebral palsy.

Sander is currently pursuing a PhD at Edith Cowan University in Australia, where his research examines how sprint running mechanics are affected by the intensity and duration of prior, fatiguing running exercise.
